Meet the Tutor

Warm Welcome to ISM Tutoring

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Design Engineering at Imperial College London, where my research explores how machine learning can make smart devices and autonomous systems more intelligent and responsive.

But long before the lab, I fell in love with teaching. Over the past decade, I’ve helped GCSE and A-Level students master Maths and Science, not just to pass exams but to properly understand and enjoy these subjects.

My approach is simple: break down complex ideas into clear, confident steps. Whether it’s calculus, mechanics, or data analysis, I tailor every session to your goals, pace, and learning style.

When I’m not tutoring or researching radar algorithms, you’ll find me mentoring students or designing new ways to make STEM education more engaging.

With best wishes,

— Danish Rizvi

Frequently Asked Questions

Where and how do classes run?

Classes are in-person small-group sessions at Alexandra Park Road, London N22. Each subject has one 2-hour session per week, taught directly by Danish.

Which subjects and levels do you cover?

Maths and Science from Year 7 through to GCSE (including Triple Science) and A-Level. GCSE teaching is exam-board focused, with mark-scheme-driven answer technique built into every topic.

How do I get started?

Book a free assessment. We evaluate your child's current level, recommend the right group, and you can see how they get on before committing to anything.

How does payment work?

Fees are collected by monthly Direct Debit, spread evenly across the academic year based on the number of lessons remaining, so you pay the same amount each month. We set this up with you after the free assessment. Missed sessions are not refunded; lessons in lieu for absences due to illness are at the tutor's discretion and may require a doctor's note. Please speak to the tutor directly.

What happens outside lessons?

Students get structured homework after every session, and ISM's homework support tools help them get unstuck between classes. Parents receive regular updates on progress.

What about holidays?

Lessons follow the school calendar, starting the first Monday of September. We break for October half term, two weeks at Christmas, February half term and Easter. The one exception is May half term: classes run as normal because exams are close.

Safeguarding & Policies

Your child's safety comes first. ISM Tutoring is run by an Enhanced-DBS-checked tutor and operates under written safeguarding and conduct policies, the same standard you would expect from a school. You can read them in full here:
